Tell us what you have
Text 817-655-5655 with a list (or rough count) of what needs to go. We quote within an hour.
- 02
Schedule pickup
Same day or next day for residential. Office IT refreshes we schedule around your team.

Load with care
Electronics are fragile and some are heavy. We use blankets and dollies. CRT TVs go upright in the trailer to avoid breaking the tube.

Certified recycling
Material goes to an R2 or e-Stewards certified recycler in the DFW area. Metals are recovered. Toxic components (lead, mercury, cadmium) are handled per EPA rules.
Why electronics need a recycler, not a landfill
Electronics are the fastest growing waste stream in the United States. The EPA estimates that less than 25 percent of e-waste gets recycled. The other 75 percent goes to landfills, where the heavy metals (lead, mercury, cadmium, beryllium) leach into groundwater. A single CRT television contains roughly 4 to 8 pounds of lead. Modern flat panel TVs contain less lead but still have mercury in the backlight tubes. Computer towers contain valuable copper and gold along with brominated flame retardants that are toxic when they break down.
Texas Junk Boyz routes all electronics to R2 (Responsible Recycling) or e-Stewards certified recyclers in the DFW area. These facilities meet federal standards for environmental and worker safety, do not export waste overseas to dumping sites, and recover valuable metals for reuse. The certificate of destruction (when requested) confirms your electronics were handled responsibly.
For CRT TVs specifically, recycling is harder and more expensive than flat panel TVs because of the leaded glass tube. Most general haulers either refuse CRTs or charge a heavy surcharge. We accept them with a small $30 per unit surcharge that covers the recycler tip fee. This is still cheaper than the typical $50 to $100 most national haulers charge for a CRT.
For business customers with IT refresh projects, certified data destruction is often required for compliance (HIPAA, SOC 2, PCI). We coordinate with a partner who does on site or facility based drive shredding with a witnessed chain of custody. You get a written certificate of destruction listing serial numbers for each drive. This is the only legally defensible way to dispose of drives with sensitive data.
