How appliance pickup works

  1. 01

    Send a photo

Text 817-655-5655 a picture of the appliance and tell us roughly where it is. We will reply with a flat rate quote and book a time.

  2. 02

    We disconnect

For washers we shut off and unscrew the water lines. For dishwashers we cut the power and disconnect the water and drain. For gas ranges we shut off the gas valve and disconnect the line. For fridges we just unplug.

  3. 03

    We carry it out

Appliance dollies and moving blankets. We protect floors, door frames, and tight stair landings. Two to four person crew on heavier units.

  4. 04

    Recycling

Metal appliances go to a local scrap yard for steel recycling. Refrigerants get recovered properly per EPA rules. About 70 percent of appliance mass gets recycled.

Why appliance removal in DFW is harder than it looks

Most appliances are designed to be installed once and stay there for 15 years. They are not designed to come out. A modern French door refrigerator weighs 300 to 400 pounds. A stackable washer dryer weighs over 400 pounds combined. Water heaters in attics or basements can be a real workout. Most homeowners trying to do it alone end up dragging the unit across hardwood, denting drywall in tight stairwells, or pulling something they should not have pulled. Texas Junk Boyz brings a crew, the right dollies, and the right knowledge.

Refrigerator removal needs special care for refrigerants. Older fridges from before 1995 contain freon (R-12) which is a regulated substance. Newer units use R-134a or R-600a, also regulated. We take all fridges to a recycler that recovers refrigerant per EPA Section 608 rules, which is both the legal way to handle them and the responsible one. The local scrap yard then strips the unit, separates the steel and copper, and feeds the materials back into the supply chain.

For washers, dryers, dishwashers, and water heaters, the bigger issue is disconnection. We carry crescent wrenches, channel locks, and a flashlight for shutoff valves that have not been touched in a decade. We can disconnect water lines and gas lines as part of the haul, but for major gas appliance work like capping a gas range line we recommend you have a licensed plumber do the final cap.

We work across all of the southern DFW metro. Burleson, Fort Worth, Mansfield, Arlington, Cleburne, Crowley, Granbury, and our service area. Whether you are replacing a kitchen, doing a renovation, or just clearing out a garage full of old appliances, we have the truck and the crew. Bilingual service available.

Common questions

Answers, no run-around.

If you don't see your question here, just call or text. We're happy to walk through it.

How much does refrigerator removal cost in DFW?

A single refrigerator pickup is $149 with Texas Junk Boyz, which is our service minimum. If you have two appliances together (like a fridge and a washer), it is $189. A full kitchen replacement haul runs $349 to $479.

Do you remove old water heaters?

Yes. We disconnect the water lines and electric or gas hookups, drain residual water, and haul it out. Most water heater removals are $149. Attic water heaters or basement units with tight access may add a small surcharge.

Will you recycle the appliance?

Yes. Metal appliances go to a local scrap yard for steel and copper recycling. Refrigerators have refrigerant recovered per EPA rules. About 70 percent of appliance mass is recycled.

Can you disconnect the appliance for me?

Yes. We disconnect washers, dryers, dishwashers, refrigerators, microwaves, and gas ranges as part of the haul. For permanent gas line capping you will want a licensed plumber afterward, but we leave it safe.

Do you take HVAC units?

Yes. Outdoor condensers and indoor air handlers. We do not remove refrigerant lines or do any wall penetration work. If you need full HVAC removal as part of a remodel, ask us and we will work with your HVAC contractor.

Same day appliance pickup?

Yes if you call by 10 AM. We service Burleson, Fort Worth, Mansfield, Arlington, Cleburne, Crowley and the southern DFW metro. Monday through Saturday, 7 AM to 7 PM.
